Abstract

The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in March 2024 was 3.03 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 106.28. The highest inflation occurred in Berau Regency at 4.05 percent with a CPI of 106.55, while the lowest occurred in Samarinda City at 2.84 percent with a CPI of 105.82.
Inflation occurred as the prices went up, as indicated by the increase in expenditure groups indices, namely: Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Group of 7.32 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group of 1.55 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group of 0.91 percent; Health Group of 4.43 percent; Transport Group of 2.03 percent; Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group of 0.09 percent; Recreation, Sport, and Culture Group of 1.70 percent; Education Group of 1.08 percent; Food and Beverage Serving Services/Restaurant Group of 1.02 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 2.22 percent. Meanwhile, Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group recorded a deflation of 0.29 percent.
The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate in March 2024 was 0.34 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate in March 2024 was 0.85 percent.
