The year-on-year (y-on-y) inflation rate in February 2024 was 3.28 percent, with a Consumer Price Index (CPI) of 105.92. The highest inflation occurred in Berau Regency at 4.14 percent with a CPI of 106.32, while the lowest occurred in Samarinda City at 3.04 percent with a CPI of 105.51.

·  Inflation occurred as the prices went up, as indicated by the increase in expenditure groups indices, namely: Food, Beverages, and Tobacco Group of 6.95 percent; Clothing and Footwear Group of 1.61 percent; Housing, Water, Electricity, and Household Fuel Group of 1.03 percent; Health Group of 4.92 percent; Transport Group of 4.59 percent; Information, Communication, and Financial Services Group of 0.14 percent; Recreation, Sport, and Culture Group of 1.96 percent; Education Group of 1.08 percent; Food and Beverage Serving Services/Restaurant Group of 1.02 percent; and Personal Care and Other Services Group of 1.69 percent.  Meanwhile, Furnishings, Household Equipment, and Routine Household Maintenance Group recorded a deflation of 0.42 percent.

·  The month-to-month (m-to-m) inflation rate in February 2024 was 0.27 percent and the year-to-date (y-to-d) inflation rate in February 2024 was 0.51 percent.
